Apply now for a full scholarship to the MA Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies!The Refugee Law Initiative,School of Advanced Study,University of London is pleased to again be partnering with Commonwealth Scholarships to offer five full scholarships for the October 2019 intake to our MA Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies (taught part-time and by distance learning).

Funded by the UK Department for International Development(DFID), Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development,and are aimed at those unable to study in the UK for financial and other reasons.

This year, with the African Union declaring 2019 the‘Year of Refugees, Returnees and Displaced Internally Persons’ these scholarships aim to contribute to the provision of specialist training to nationals of Commonwealth countries in Africa,and are only open to applicants from Cameroon, Eswatini, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

This MA Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies has quickly become one of the
largest programmes on forced migration in the world.It enables students to acquire a rigorous legal,practical and theoretical understanding of refugee protection and forced migration, whilst developing expertise through a choice of elective modules.

Applicants will be required to submit an application to the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship scheme through the application portal by 22March2019(opens on 1 February )2019).

Applicants must already have been offered a place on our MA Programme,so we
recommend that applications for the MA programme reach us by 1March2019.
