SC Rwanda Country Office seeks to hire qualified, committed and experienced national staff to fill the following position:
Position: IKEA SFC Project Officer (3 positions)
Place of work: Kirehe, Nyarugenge and Burera

Staff directly reporting to this:VFS Project Coordinator
Staff directly interacting with this post: Child Protection staff, Education Staff, MEAL staff, Support Services (Logs, Admin and Finance)

Health and Safety
The role holder is required to carry out the duties in accordance with SCI Health and Safety policies and procedures.
To Implement the VSF Project deliverables in schools and Communities of Assigned Districts.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Organise and facilitate trainings of teachers and other school personnel on Positive discipline& Literacy
- Accompanying the trained teachers and school personnel in the process of implementing positive disciple and Literacy activities in schools and homes;
- Organise community and school based campaigns aiming at raising awareness on Positive Discipline and Literacy Promotion.
- Facilitate the empowerment of children and SGAC members to prevent and manage VAC and SGBV in target schools;
- Provide ongoing advice and support to primary school teachers in the implementation of the learning from the training sessions through classroom observation and Peer Leaning Circles.
- Supervise and mentor trained teachers SEOs and HTs members to develop activity plans and monitor the implementation;
- Facilitate the establishing of gender responsive CP systems and reporting channels in target schools.
- Collaborate with local authorities to ensure the smooth implementation of the project;
- Ensure timely progress reports comprising best practices, lessons learned, case studies are produced and submitted to project coordinator;
- Sharing experiences in terms of success, and challenges with Other VFS Officers;
- Ensure that all beneficiaries of Violence-free Schools are receiving ongoing, age-appropriate verbal or written information in relevant languages about Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
- Highlight early to the VFS Project Coordinator and Manager any potential constraints to the sustainability of Literacy Boost and Positive Discipline activities;
- Represent Save the Children in relevant District meetings and events.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning
- Provide feedbacks on monthly action plan tracker and accountability databases to the Basic Education program coordinator/manager, take relevant measures to implement action points.
- Develop, in collaboration with MEAL staff, school-monitoring tools.
- Provide their monthly activity plan to MEAL focal person of their project for field monitoring
- Monitor progress of the project against agreed project targets and indicators;
- Collect and manage complaints and feedback in close coordination with MEAL team;
- Ensure complaint responses are provided to complainants on a timely manner and collect their feedback after response is provided
- Share case studies, human interest stories, documentaries and other related materials with Basic Education programme coordinator/manager or MEAL Unit
- Identify and document key lessons learned from the project, including success stories;
Ensure that all beneficiaries of your programme are receiving ongoing, age-appropriate verbal or written information in relevant languages about Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree level in education, Social Sciences, , and any other related field;
- Very Good knowledge of the Education system in Rwanda; preferably in Literacy promotion
- Experience in Child Protection and/or Child Rights Governance related matters.
- Demonstrable skills and experience in project implementation, preferable having worked with NGOs
- Ability to develop constructive relationships with a wide range of partners, including children, teachers, communities and local authorities;
- Very Strong experience in facilitating training sessions;
- Proven ability to deliver projects in line with proposals, budgets and timelines;
- Willingness to be self-sufficient with regard to transport;
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills;
