The CENIT@EA is initiated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the East African Community (EAC). It is funded by BMZ and implemented by German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Academic Exchange Services (DAAD) in partnership with the Inter-University Council of East Africa (IUCEA). The CENIT@EA is designed as a regional Centre serving Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda and hosted at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) at the School of Computational Communication Sciences and Engineering (CoCSE).

The CENIT@EA aims at establishing a demand driven Master Degree Programme in Embedded and Mobile Systems (MSc. EMoS), strengthening teaching and learning capabilities of East African Universities in ICT- related fields, and fostering regional networks and cross-sector partnerships between higher education institutions, industry, the public sector and civil society.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The CENIT@EA aims at achieving reasonable distribution of scholarships for master programme in Embedded and Mobile Systems following a transparent and fair selection of scholarship recipients. The CENIT@EA scholarships cover tuition fees applied at NMAIST, monthly allowance, rent assistance, financial assistance for studies and research as per NM-AIST fee structure. Self-funded/ third-party sponsored candidates are highly encouraged to apply.

The program will start at June 03, 2019 and it can accommodate a maximum of 50 students.

APPLICANTS ELIGIBILITY

  • Be nationals of Tanzania (in-country) or nationals of the East African Community, including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan (inregion)
  • Hold at least a second class Bachelor degree (minimum GPA 3.0/5.0) degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical  Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or other related fields. Or have at least an overall of grade “B” in relevant subjects or fields of specialization in case of holding an unclassified degree
  • Have adequate knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Be able to apply for admission into master’s degree in Embedded and Mobile Systems at NM-AIST through the following link: http://oas.nmaist.ac.tz:8080/noas/
