Key Accountabilities but not limited to

  • Provide ongoing facilitation and coaching that enables the team to excel at agile development
  • Facilitate medium-to-high complexity Agile initiatives from initiation through release
  • Navigate and identify shared IT services required by the team in the delivery of its objectives
  • Facilitate discussions leading to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution within the team
  • Actively manage risks and external dependencies drawing in team members as appropriate
  • Track to resolution team level impediments as they come up, allowing the team to focus only on value-driven execution
  • Protect and shield the team from external interferences that hinder productivity and impact team dynamics
  • Create and maintain the appropriate vehicles for open communication within the scrum team (e.g. tracker boards, JIRA) to create a trusting and safe team environment
  • Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues via frequent retrospectives

Experience

  • Ability to implement a fine-tuned organizational system and have a plan in place that helps everyone stay on track.
  • Ability to keep the entire team on schedule and ensuring that no task assignments escape notice.
  • Must have project management knowledge on how to keep the entire team connected and organized at all times.

Purpose of the job

Enabling cross-functional teams to develop medium-to-complex business / customer/ employee solutions using the Agile way of working that integrates the business and technical needs. The members also need to be coached on how to have a sense of ownership of projects and view them as something they want to do rather than something they are paid to do. It is not the team alone that needs coaching,

He should use right channels of communication as a crucial aspect during any project.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree (Business Administration/ Project Management/ IT)
  • Scrum certificate is an added advantage

Knowledge, Skills and competencies

  • A Scrum Master needs to be well equipped with excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure that every piece of information gets to the team, related stakeholders and is delivered accurately and on time.
  • Familiar with banking business environment and digital transformation journey;
  • Exposure to decision making with potential to convince and influence;
  • Creative and innovative;
  • Understand the market needs with an ability to do research analysis;
  • Knowledge of Agile software development process (e.g. XP, Kanban, Scrum, etc.)
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Paired Programming, Automated Testing, Agile Games is an added advantage
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team
