The Climate Justice Impact Fund for Africa (CJIFA) has launched its 2025 Community Empowerment Grant Program to support youth-led and grassroots organizations across Africa. This initiative aims to fund high-impact, community-driven climate action projects that promote environmental justice, equity, and sustainable development. The grants are designed for groups that often struggle to secure traditional funding.

The program offers small grants ranging from $5,000 to $8,000 for projects with a duration of 6 to 12 months. There’s a possibility of multi-year renewal, which can provide sustained support for successful initiatives. In addition to financial aid, the program offers capacity building, networking, and visibility to grantee organizations.

Eligibility and Focus 🌍

To be eligible, an organization must be a registered not-for-profit, non-religious, non-governmental, and non-political entity that has been operating at the grassroots level for 1 to 3 years. It must have an annual income under $80,000. The fund prioritizes applications from groups that are youth-led or women-led and those working directly with marginalized or vulnerable communities.
