Job Outline:

The incumbent will be responsible for KK Security’s (a wholly owned subsidiary of GardaWorld) business in terms of leadership, management, guidance and mentorship to ensure the Company grows in accordance with the budgets it is set, it delivers its services to the highest safety and security standards and in a compliant and responsible way. The position’s key areas of responsibility are:

•             Responsibility for the Company’s financial performance (full P & L) with specific focus on top line growth, strict cost management of both direct and SG&A costs to ensure the business delivers sustainable organic operating profit growth year on year;

•             Ownership of delivering on DSO, +60 day debt and Free Cash Flow targets;

•             Development and management of client relationships with a focus on sales and organic growth;

•             Ownership of specific strategic client relationships, strategic sales development and management of sales deliverables from the sales team including management of all sales staff;

•             Responsibility for the development of the Company’s sales strategy and ensuring it links to the wider GW SS MEA strategy;

•             Be an active member of the relevant private and public business associations to promote the Company and to maintain currency with the latest market trends, risks and changes in law relating to the security industry;

•             Overall responsibility for all operations ensuring they adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures and specifically its Business Management System and in compliance with its international certifications being PSC.01 and ISO 18788;

•             Responsible for maintaining / retaining and growing all current business to include meeting and exceeding targets for terminations and ownership of the client Net Promoter Scorecard;

•             Ownership of the Company’s Labour Efficiency scorecard to ensure all operations are managed within the Company’s staffing KPI’s;

•             Responsible for maintaining and managing all industrial relations both internally and externally with all key stakeholders such as but not limited to Unions, Regulatory Authorities and Employer Associations etc.;

•             Responsible for the relationships with key Government stakeholders and public sector specific bodies, security industry associations and competitors;

•             Ownership of any and all price increase exercises resulting from either statutory increases gazetted by Government or annual rate of inflation / fx adjustments;  

•             Responsible for the Company’s marketing and communications strategy to include attending and hosting events with support from the regional Marcomms Manager;

•             Act as the link between the Rwanda team and the wider GW business providing any and all support as required;

•             As a collaborative member of the leadership team, challenge perceived wisdom, attract, train and retain  talent, engage with the strategic stakeholders, passionately promote the Company’s values, culture and standards, fiercely protect the brand and provide guidance and direction to the Managing Director East Africa on all operational issues (no surprises…), celebrate success and always communicate, coordinate and collaborate;

•             Ability to lead, guide, manage and motivate staff;

•             Proven experience in organizational change, development and growth management;

•             Attention to detail with superior analytical and project management skills;

•             Must have the ability to cost and present financial details in order to establish, present and manage budgets and KPI’s;

•             Able to design, implement and manage sales strategies and initiatives across all service lines in a timely and cost-effective manner;

•             Well-developed understanding of operational, technical and physical security services gained within both commercial and Government environments;

•             Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to convey complex messages across a wide ranging audience, both internally and externally to clients and other key stakeholders;

•             Ability to make prompt, clear and considered decisions within challenging and high-risk environments;

•             Demonstrative understanding of end-to-end business resilience practice and processes;

•             Demonstrates integrity and ethics and ensures these principles cascade down to all areas within the Mozambique business unit;

•             Demonstrated experience in driving teams to reach strategic and operational goals within defined timeframes;

•             Ability to lead others to manage conflict in a positive manner;

•             Proven experience in developing and delivering against cost reduction and cost management plans;

•             Ability to balance cost cutting measures while retaining superior customer service;

•             Creative and innovative approach to problem solving;

•             Must be calm under pressure and able to adapt and evolve to changing market conditions, government regulation, business performance and variations in threat that the business is exposed to;

•             Ability to asses, design / plan, implement and maintain multimillion USD projects;

•             Ability to initiate and lead client contact into proposal, contract negotiation, execution and service delivery across the business unit;

•             Ability to produce complex conceptual written proposals/documentation to win new business;

•             Able to review, amend, negotiate and execute client and supplier agreements in accordance with Company policy;

•             Must have advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and be able to present and accurately maintain internal and external reporting requirements;

•             High level command of English is a pre-requisite and fluency (speak, read and write) in French is essential.

 

Authority:

As delegated and directed by the Managing Director, East Africa.

Accountability:

The Country Manager Rwanda is accountable to the Managing Director, East Africa for their responsibilities stated in this job description. These responsibilities will be monitored and managed through real time performance feedback as well as the performance reviews and supported through the monitoring of their KPIs.

Experience:

•             Minimum of 10 years’ leadership, management to include P & L responsibility and delivery experience within the commercial security industry in Sub Saharan Africa;

•             Ideally have a minimum of 3 years of Police, Military or Emergency Services experience;

•             Experience of managing large scale security operations in the O & G and mining sectors is desirable;

•             Experience working with a multinational matrix organisation;

•             Experience with and management of compliance with ISO processes;

•             Demonstrated knowledge and management of legal processes and requirements within complex operating environments;

•             Proven experience of dealing with industrial relations;

•             Bachelor Degree level education and MBA desirable.
