 HAGURUKA is a Non-Governmental Organization whose mission is to promote and defend woman and child’s rights using international and national legal frameworks and policies. The headquarter is located in Kigali at KIMIRONKO with 4 Local Regional Offices in 4 Districts, such as KAYONZA, NYANZA, MUSANZE and NYAMASHEKE.

Reporting To: Finance & Administration

Type of contract:  Fixed-term (12 months)

Salary: The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job description
To contribute to the key objective of the projects by ensuring efficient transportation services and In order to effectively accomplish its objectives, HAGURUKA NGO is looking for a dynamic, competent and result-driven driver (1) to support transport-related duties.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Drives official vehicles of the Organisation
  • Responsible for keeping his/her driving license valid and for conforming to the traffic code
  • In case his/her vehicle is involved in accident, ensure that the necessary steps confirming to rules and regulations are taken
  • Cleans the interior and exterior of the vehicle(s) regularly
  • Checks oil, water, brakes and brake liquid, tyre pressure, battery levels, and the entire vehicle, monthly or every 5,000 km (whichever is first), headlights, brakes, bodywork for dents etc
  • Make fuel and service requests on time
  • Make field trips in/or out-side Kigali;
  • Keep inspect the vehicles’ document of licensing and its mechanical status and inform the line managers
  • Prepare monthly mileage summary with oil /fuel consumption and report to supervisor
  • Keeps records/logbook as required of the performance and cost of upkeep of the vehicle assigned to him/her.
  • Assists in identifying and purchasing necessary spare part for office vehicles;
  • Perform basic office related tasks such as filing, photocopying when required including delivery/collection of various items, mailing service and payment of office bills
  • Transports official staff/visitors and facilitates in all operations formalities as necessary
  • Delivery support as messenger and responsible for safe carrying of any documents, parcels or other articles entrusted to him/her for transporting as assigned by the line manager.
  • Perform any other tasks as appropriately assigned

Requirememts

  • Experience with driving VIP officials.
  • Experience in working with a multinational
  • Fluent in Kinyarwanda and Basic in English (written and spoken)
  • Be Rwandan Nationality
  • Full knowledge of Rwandan traffic rules and laws
  • Be able to fix the vehicles as minor broken;
  • Having interpersonal skills, honest and active in services.
  • Be computer literate (Microsoft Word and Excel)

Education/ Experience

  • Completion of secondary education;
  • Valid driving license of B Category
  • Minimum of two years’ driving experience with safe driving record;

Conditions

To be between 25 and 45 year’s old

To be flexible to work anywhere (location) at any time for the benefit of HAGURUKA

To be smart by his/her appearance (cleanliness)

Not to have been convicted for the imprisonment of at least six months

Not to have been dismissed definitively from any institutions;
