Erasmus Mundus Master Programme 2019 - Mediterranean Forestry and natural resources management (MEDFOR)Applications are open to the Erasmus Mundus Master Programme 2019 in Mediterranean Forestry and natural resources management (MEDFOR). The MEDfOR Masters Course is open to candidates from all over the world.

About the program

MEDfOR is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Master Course Programme focuses on the integrating theme of sustainability in Mediterranean forests and woodlands. It aims to address topics that are specific to the Mediterranean forestry and that require special attention such as:

i) Forest as a unique world heritage,

ii) Forest management and conservation and

iii) Forestry role in the welfare of the Mediterranean communities.

MEDfOR is offered by a Consortium of top ranked Universities with complementary expertise on the field of Mediterranean forestry and natural resources partners:

About the scholarship

The MEDfOR Consortium has developed a common set of admission criteria as well as a joint application procedure. The MEDfOR Commission carries out the selection of students, where all partner universities are represented.

To apply to the Programme you must fulfill the following criteria:

Admission Criteria

  • At least a bachelor degree on the field of economics or sciences
  • High proficiency in English

Application

In order to apply you have to send the following list of documents, NUMBERED (1 to 6) and NAMED as below in pdf format.

All the documents should be sent by e-mail (medfor@isa.ulisboa.pt). Subject of the e-mail has to be: “MEDfOR Application – Your name”.

  • 1) Filled Application Form: find it on the left “Student Application form”
  • 2) Copy of Passport (as proof of Nationality)
  • 3) Copy of place of residence (e.g. residence certificate or certificate from the candidate’s place of work, study or training)
  • 4) Certified (translated) copy of university diplomas
  • 5) Certified (translated) transcript of study results
  • 6) (certified copy of) language test results: TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge English Examinations (CAE). * **
  • 7) CV – Curriculum vitae – European format is preferable

Please note  :

  • Native speakers don’t need to present any English certificate
  • Other official certificate – which clearly grades the English level of of the candidate – may also be accepted

Recommendation letters:

In addition to your application ,you must send two different recommendation letters, being at least one from an academic referee. These letters should be sent by the referees themselves to: medfor@isa.ulisboa.pt, with the name of the applicant written in the subject of the e-mail. If the letters don follow these rules, your application will not be accepeted.

NO DOCUMENTS SENT BY POST MAIL WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Candidates will be notified on the final decision concerning their ranking, until the end of April. The best 15-20 candidates may receive an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.

Important notice from the European Commission

Erasmus Mundus Scholarships: You can only submit a total of three Erasmus Mundus scholarship applications for each application round counting both Master and PhD applications. In the eventual case that a student applies for scholarships to more than three Erasmus Mundus programmes he/she will be excluded from the selection for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
