POSITION:      Financial Literacy Trainer

LOCATION:   Out of Kigali

Inkomoko Entrepreneur Development is a business consulting firm that works with micro, small, and medium enterprises in Rwanda to develop powerful strategies to increase their profits, help them grow, and create jobs. Our services help our clients develop and improve their capacity. Founded in 2012, Inkomoko identifies Rwandan and refugee entrepreneurs and provides them with trusted advisors, practical services, technology tools, and affordable capital, so that they can grow their businesses and create jobs for others.

In 2019 Inkomoko is working with 1800 entrepreneurs in Rwanda, including hundreds of Congolese and Burundian refugees who are creating businesses in Rwanda.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Reporting to the Senior Trainer, the Financial Literacy Trainer will implement Inkomoko training for a variety of businesses across Rwanda. Specific responsibilities include:

TRAINING IMPLEMENTATION (90%)

  • Manage training in 2 locations for all incoming refugee and host clients in the Micro Business Solutions Department.
  • Implement training as part of the ongoing classes scheduled for Inkomoko clients.
  • Deploy a wide variety of training methods.
  • Develop new and review existing content to match client needs and refugee business dynamics.
  • Recommend clients that need extra/specific attention to the relevant consulting Team.
  • Coordinate with Camp/Location Managers efforts about the training to clients and partners to ensure full participation.
  • Draft training reports from assigned locations and update the online report.
  • Develop, implement financial literacy & Group savings modules to refugees and host communities across Rwanda

 

OPERATIONS & ADMINISTRATION (10% time)

  • Record billable hours and activities in organizational tracking systems (Odoo, etc).
  • Maintain an updated training schedule on the calendar and the website.
  • Work with the Monitoring & Evaluation Manager to ensure trainings are assessed for impact and value to entrepreneurs.
  • Coordinate with the training team for smooth logistics and delivery of training.
  • Attend all Company-wide meetings and maintain organizational values in all situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills qualifications include:

  • Understanding of business concepts (finance, Operations, HR, marketing, Business ideation, cash flow management, human-centered design & Business Model Canvas), and be able to teach these concepts to adult learners in non-traditional settings.
  • Understanding of Saving Groups( Group formation, management, rules and regulations, financing models, dispute resolutions)
  • Undergraduate degree a must, advanced degree preferred in Business is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of Financial Literacy training, public speaking, content development or understanding of adult education/learning.
  • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Experience with Human-Centered Design, financial literacy, and Savings Groups.
  • Candidates must possess excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft office, Excel, Google Drive.
  • 3+ years of experience working with micro-entrepreneurs, business development, and savings groups.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel across Rwanda to implement training in Kigali, Nyamata, Huye, and refugee camps across the country – some overnight travel is required for this position.
  • MUST have fluency in English, French, and Kinyarwanda (Kirundi also a plus).
