Greenpreneurs 2019: Accelerating youth innovation

If you have a great idea to generate green growth in your community, the Global Green Growth Institute, Student Energy and Youth Climate Lab invite you to apply to participate in Greenpreneurs.

Form a small team and submit your idea for a solution that positively impacts the future of sustainable energy; water and sanitation; sustainable landscapes (forestry and agriculture); or green city development. Preference will be given to teams focused in GGGI’s member countries.

Fifteen selected teams will take part in a free twelve-week virtual accelerator course with weekly learning modules that include webinars and tasks as well as coaching from mentors and subject matter experts that will support you to build your idea into a validated business plan.

The program will culminate in a business competition, for some teams winning a trip to Seoul, South Korea to visit the GGGI Head Office, small-scale project funding and conference bursaries to the International Student Energy Conference in 2021.

Proposed Timeline:

April 15 – May 14 Accepting applications
May 28 Selected teams announced
June 3 – 7 Program orientation
June 10 – Aug 11 Weekly modules
Aug 12 – Aug 25 Business competition
Sept 9 Winning teams announced

The Youth Climate Lab is a youth-for-youth non-profit, founded in 2017, dedicated to supporting and creating youth-driven, innovative projects for climate action. We are an organization that works with governments, businesses, civil society and international organizations to identify, design and pilot new ideas for effective climate action

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) was established as an intergovernmental organization with the objective of promoting sustainable development of developing and emerging countries including the least developed countries. GGGI is dedicated to supporting the creation and diffusion of the model of economic growth known as “green growth”. The green growth model integrates economic growth, environmental sustainability, poverty reduction and social inclusion.
