The Successful Candidate:

Jibu is looking for an experienced professional with demonstrated ability to provide leadership, training, and IT support in a fast-paced, growing business in a developing market.

Successful candidate will:

● Excel in clear communication with both IT developers and non-technical
stakeholders.

● Be proactive in identifying and eliminating problems.

● Be a self-starter who thinks critically and problem-solves quickly.

● Believe no task is below them; no challenge is beyond them.

● Is adaptive and can translate user feedback and needs into technical specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Lead Software Development for SEMA, Jibu’s in-house POS/CRM software

o Deeply understand SEMA schema, design, and code

o Innovate and drive new software solutions to help Jibu grow, in close
collaboration with country directors, Marketing, Franchise Support,
Production & Quality, Finance, Training, and Supply Chain functions.

o Lead the software development process; Validate and specify feature
requests, develop the big-picture road map, facilitate the prioritization
process and coordinate the implementation with software developers.

o Liaison between Jibu internal stakeholders and software developers

o Lead the maintenance of the App: Collect and consolidate user feedback
and bug reports, translate the bug reports to feature requests,
troubleshoot and provide day-to-day support

o Manage the Version log

o Implement new versions across the Jibu network and identify critical
training points.

o Co-develop training materials with training manager.

2. System Administration for cloud software such as Google Suite, mWater, and SEMA.

3. Oversee internal IT infrastructure

o Office hardware
o Internet
o Determine office IT support strategy

4. Lead IT Training and capacity building for Jibu staff and partners, many with
limited technical experience

o Develop and improve training resources
o Deliver trainings for groups or individuals, including train-the-trainer
o Onboard new staff in productivity tools necessary for their jobs

5. Provide hands-on IT help as necessary

6. Travel: 10-25%

Qualifications

Diploma (required) or Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.

● Specific experience using

o JavaScript (required) and ReactNative (preferred) to create and modify
Android Apps
o MySQL for Database Management (preferred)
o Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration (preferred)
o Third-party APIs (preferred)

● At least 2 years of management-level experience in software development.
(preferred)

● Experience in working for a young emerging market company

● Cultural knowledge and experience working in an emerging market context.
(preferred)

● A team player with a sense of adventure wanting to make a difference. (required)

● Near perfect English language skills (required), additional local languages
(preferred).

Compensation: Commensurate with experience
