The management of Energy Utility Corporation Limited (EUCL) informs the public that it is recruiting competent, qualified and experienced staff to fill the following positions:


1.Head of Human Resources Unit (1)

Key responsibilities:

  • Spearhead development of a human resources management strategy for the company, that reflects and supports the operational goals and in line with the relevant legislations;
  • Develop and implement optimal performance management systems and processes that will enable the company to align employee activities to organisational goals, clearly monitor and measure and reward performance and help to maximise employee productivity;
  • Ensure that the company has optimal compensation and benefits systems, processes and standards that ensure that pay structures are in line with market, that they allow EUCL to attract and retain quality staff and are cost efficient. Regularly carry out or participate in salary surveys so as to stay abreast with market pay standards;
  • Ensure that EUCL has in place comprehensive job descriptions that are clearly aligned to the organisation structure, reflect the appropriate accountability levels for each position and clearly specify required qualifications and competencies;
  • Provide leadership to the Human Resource department staff and supervise and manage their performance and development in line with the Organization’s goals, objectives, policies and regulations.
  • Take all reasonable and practicable steps to maintain a safe and healthy working environment which complies with statutory requirements.
  • Manage employee discipline and ensure compliance with EUCL internal legislation, rules and regulations in all instances. Put in place and manage appropriate employee grievances management procedures that ensure the speedy and effective resolution of employee grievances and promotes employee motivation and commitment.
  • Master’s degree (Msc) in Human Resource management, social sciences, organisational/occupational psychology with at least 5 years of experience in Human Resource management, 2 of which should be at manager level
  • Bachelor’s degree (A0) in Human Resource management, social sciences, organisational/occupational psychology; with at least 8 years  of experience in Human Resource management, 3 of which should be at manager level

Required Education background & Experience:

Master’s degree (Msc) in Human Resource management, social sciences, organisational/ occupational psychology with at least 5 years of experience in Human Resource management, 2 of which should be at manager level

OR

Bachelor’s degree (A0) in Human Resource management, social sciences, organisational/occupational psychology; with at least 8 years of experience in Human Resource management, 3 of which should be at manager level


2.Head of Legal Unit

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop legal policies, process and procedures in line with the Rwandan law and the strategic objectives of Energy Utility Corporation Limited.
  • Provide guidance on legal and governance issues or matters that may arise for the Organization’s compliance with the relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Lead in the drafting and negotiation of contracts to include contract negotiation in coordination with the Electric Utility legal services.
  • Represent the REG and Energy Utility Corporation Limited in courts of law and provide legal advice
  • Provide overall leadership of the legal department and Supervise and manage the performance and development of staff in the department in line with the Organization’s goals, objectives, policies and regulations.

Required Education background & Experience:

A Master’s degree in Law. A Juris Doctor (JD) in law would be an added advantage

At least 5 years of relevant professional experience related to corporate/commercial transactions in a reputable company or law firm, 2 of which at manager level


3.Store Keeper (2)

Key responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders; processes and distributes documentation with purchase orders; reports, documents and tracks damages and discrepancies on orders received.
  • Makes intra- and inter-campus deliveries of requested surplus office furniture and merchandise; maintains records of all deliveries.
  • Fill supply requisitions; assists buyer to order adequate merchandise and supplies; delivers orders to faculty and staff.
  • Receive store, tag and track surplus property; prepares property lists for items to be sold at auction.
  • Receive and store documents and confidential files; maintains record of approved document and confidential file destruction.

Required Education background & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (A0) in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Accounting; and
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar Finance role or logistics
