The current UNICEF-Government of Zimbabwe Country Programme of Cooperation (2016-2020) aims to support Zimbabwe to sustain and build upon the gains achieved for children during the 2012-2015 Country Programme of Cooperation. The programme focuses on improving the quality of social services, increasing access to services, and helping to build national and sub-national capacities to provide low-cost, high-impact interventions for all children, especially the most vulnerable.

How can you make a difference?

Reporting to the Chief HIV/AIDS for supervision, the HIV/AIDS Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the HIV programmes/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative program tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting of results.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

• Support to programme development and planning.
• Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results.
• Technical and operational support to programme implementation.
• Networking and partnership building.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• To be a national of one of the Sweden partner countries: Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia,Colombia,Cuba,Georgia,Guatemala,Iraq,Kosovo,Liberia,Mali,Moldova, Mozambique, Myanmar, North Macedonia, Palestine, Russian Fed., Rwanda, Serbia, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Yemen, Zambia.
• A University Degree in public health, pediatric health, family health, health research, global/international health, health policy and/or management, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, socio-medical, health education, epidemiology or other health related sciences is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in HIV/AIDS planning and management and/or in relevant areas of health care, health/emergency preparedness at the international level and/or in a developing country is required.
• Experience in HIV/AIDS programme/project development in UN system agency or organization is an asset.
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
