Job Description
The general responsibility of the Land survey/GIS Specialist is to collect and analyse the spatial data of the transport project undertaken by RTDA.
Reporting: The Land survey/GIS Specialist reports to the Director of of Asset Management Unit
Duties and responsibilities:
1. collecting spatial data of the road network under upgrading, rehabilitation or maintenance
2. collecting spatial data of existing source of materials for the road network construction and rehabilitation
3. Assist engineers in preparing network referencing and inventories
4. Assist engineers in preparing technical specifications for the materials classification based on road categories
5. Assist engineers preparing proper benchmarking on the road network right of way
6. Ensuring with engineers that road audits on the geometric features are carried out in the entire network including drainage channels, road furniture, bus bays, bridges location, and necessary other parameters which impact on the traffic comfort and safety.
7. Assist engineers in all surveying activities and keep an updated database for all road network coordinates and classification
8. Mapping activities undertaken by the Agency like project delimitation, expropriation
9. Produce maps of the activities undertaken by the Agency
10. Spatial data analysis in order to show the best locations of basic infrastructures and services.
Job Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Land Survey and Geomatics Engineering, Geography Information System, Remote Sensing, Global Positioning System, Land Surveying, Cartography or Geography with 3 years of relevant working experience or Master’s Degree in Land Survey and Geomatics Engineering, Geography Information System,Remote Sensing, Global Positioning System, Land Surveying, Cartography or Geography.

– High knowledge in GIS justified by training certificate;

– Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and/ or French. Knowledge of all is an advantage
