Job Responsibilities:
- Develop media strategy and manage media operations – ensuring timely placement, review, reporting and withdrawal of marketing campaigns to ensure value optimization for the business.
- Ensure media spend is within approved budget limits.
- Ensure integration of digital media channels in the overall media operation and executions.
- Manage the formulation of effective media addressing brand/business issues.
- Effectively manage media houses by setting and monitoring clear KPIs.
- Evaluate the impact of MTN sponsored media shows and make appropriate recommendations to the business regarding retention or cancelation of sponsoring shows.
- Manage contract negotiations with media houses and ensure contracts are up to date.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with Media agencies and partners.
- Seek an understanding of the brand strategy to develop annual media and campaign specific plans.
- Ensure the Brand’s health is impacted by identifying and using media that positively impacts on the Brand health indicators.
- Effectively coordinate the traffic between MTN and its Creative Agency to ensure the overall execution of plans on time and to agreed priorities.
- Submission of Creative Agency activity/campaign reports in a timely manner.
- Marketing/Brand specialist for MTN’s Enterprise Business Unit (EBU) and Mobile Financial Services (MFS), as well as other Business Units as may be required.
- Translate business objectives for EBU and MFS into Marketing objectives.
- Assists segment/product owners to develop briefs for the creative agency.
- Develop the marketing strategies, tactics and implement marketing plan for EBU and MFS Business Units.
- Identify target market segments and advise on best way to communicate product.
- Work with the relevant products team on campaigns
- Collaborate with EBU and MFS business owners to identify gaps and opportunities within these segments/product portfolios and develop initiatives and action plans to proactively respond to the market’s needs.
- Champion and distil the Voice-of-the-Customer insights. Ensure a validated customer need is at the center of all initiatives.
- Liaise with the legal division in ensuring proper negotiation and compliance to all relevant contractual agreements (MOU’s & SLA’s)
- Translate business objectives for EBU and MFS into Marketing objectives.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Media, PR and Social Sciences
- 3 years in the Brand or Integrated Marketing and Communication field
