Call for Applications for MSc Physics Programme at the University of Rwanda College of Science and Technology

NEW: Applications are being accepted for the 2020-2021 academic year. Deadline is 31st March, 2020. Final selection of candidates will be made by 30st/June/2020.

The University of Rwanda (UR) through the ICTP East African Institute for Fundamental Research (EAIFR) is offering two-year Masters programs in Physics with specializations in High Energy Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, and Geophysics. The quality of the Masters courses will be at the same level as the Postgraduate Courses given at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste Italy. In the first year, students take the same basic physics courses designed to bring them to an advanced level in preparation for the second year in which they specialize into one of the ee areas mentioned above. Students who successfully complete their programs will obtain MSc degree from the University of Rwanda.

Mode of Attendance:

By fulltime course work (offered by modules) and a final thesis at the end of the second year. All courses will be given at the ICTP-EAIFR building on the UR Nyarugenge campus in Kigali. Rwanda

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with honors in Physics or Maths with distinction. The selection of candidates will be based on their university records and on academic recommendations.

Funding

  • A limited number of scholarships are available for the top performing students.
