The Program officer reports to the Country Director.   He/ she has overall responsibility to perform the coordination and implementation of the organization’s field activities under its project “Strengthening trust and Collaboration between citizens and Governmental Officials for the Prevention of the Violent Extremism

      • Work in collaboration with Country Director to plan, coordinate, implement and report on project’s activities;
      • Planning, organizing and conduct regular field visits to monitor how field  activities are being conducted;
      • In collaboration with partner organizations, the program officer organizes events at the local and national level;
      • Maintain good working relationships with the partner organizations, national and local government including the districts, participants, civil society organizations at the grassroot level, and district local authorities where the projects’ activities are being conducted;
      • Identify opportunities for outreach and promotion that maximizes the visibility of Search work with the target groups as well as the broader audience ;
      • Be engaged in the continuing development of the organization, its mission and strategic objectives in Rwanda, through the sharing of experience and knowledge, particularly contributing to its Institutional Learning initiative;
      • Contribute to the good complementarity and collaboration between  SFCG’s programmes;
      • Produce field reports, monthly activity reports, including any requested indicator data needed,  success stories and contribute to Quarterly Management Report as required;
      • Contribute to donor project reports as requested;
      • Managing in a professional manner the Project budget including the advances for the field activities
      • Provide the activities advances report;
      • Contribute to the project monitoring and evaluation;
      • Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable to
promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct
himself/herself in a manner consistent with  Safeguarding Policies.
 
    • As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.

Skills & Competencies

Minimum Qualifications
      • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a related social science field, law, development studies or equivalent relevant work experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
      • Leadership skills; the candidate should be a self-starter and should have initiative;
      • Excellent command of Kinyarwanda; English and French (written & Oral)
      • Excellent writing ability and communication skills;
      • High standards of integrity, professionalism and impartiality;
      • Must enjoy work independently as well as in a team environment;
      • Ability to travel to working districts;
      • Knowledge in budget management, reporting, project monitoring & evaluation;
      • Details oriented and highly organized and motivated;
      • Ability to multi task and work under tight deadlines;
      • Proficient in Microsoft word, Power point, Excel.
Desirable
    • Minimum of 5 year-working experience in peacebuilding  and  development programs;
    • Strong experience in Governance related projects with the Non-Governmental organization.
