Job Description
Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing complex material testing, sampling and inspection work and survey services during construction.
Reporting: The Quality Control Technician reports to Director of Quality Control Unit
General responsilibilties:
The general responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician include but are not limited to:
1. conduct laboratory tests for asphalt and concrete products including assessment of multiyear needs for tests and budget;
2. conduct and prepare review laboratory and research program areas to meet organizational objectives and goals;
3. adopt standard procedures for testing and quality control of road and bridge works;
4. ensure the quality and compliance to standards of laboratory services provided and the laboratory and research program’s success;
5. assist testing works to laboratory and research staff and others through consultation and liaison activities; and
6. provide technical guidance to staff and others concerning rules and regulations and Government requirements for the laboratory practices.
Job Profile
A1 in Land Surveying, Transportation Engineering,Highway Engineering, Civil Engineering, Road Engineering & Construction, Building & Construction or Civil Infrastructure Engineering.
Key technical skills and knowledge required:
? Hand- on skills in road construction materials testing and reporting as well site construction quality and survey;
? High analytical skills;
? Coordination, planning and organizational skills;
? Report writing and presentation skills;
? Leadership skills;
? Computer literacy;
? ffective communication skills;
? Administrative skills;
? Time management skills;
? Team working skills;
? Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and/ or French. Knowledge of all is an advantage.
