Job Position: Recovery Officer
Reporting
The Prime Life recovery officer reports to the finance department.

The recovery officer will be responsible for:
- Tracing and locating all the handed over debtors and obtaining any other necessary information needed to succeed in recoveries and reaching out to customers with overdue accounts by sending out notices of unpaid debts;
- Setting up and maintaining the handed over debtors’ files and reporting on a monthly basis on the status of various debtors handed over for the collection of debts ;
- Reporting the successful collection of the capital amount collected ;
- Negotiate and manage reasonable debt repayment plans with the handed over debtors to ensure full debt recovery;
- To submit to the finance department all relevant inquiries and requests obtained from debtors in respect the debts outstanding ;
- To identify and evaluate the possible write-offs of outstanding debts that prove to be completely unrecoverable with reasons detailing why a write off of the mentioned debts should be considered;
- To ensure that individuals and or organizations with outstanding debts have been reported to the responsible team together with the necessary supporting documentation and to ensure that such submission affects the credit rating of the debtors;
- Prepare monthly debtor statements for all the outstanding debts and share the same with debtors and finance department;
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounts Receivable team and enlist the efforts of senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process.
Qualifications and other requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, and economics or related fields;
- Minimum experience of 3 years in recovery and account receivables, Recovery experience in Banks, Micro Finance, SACCO and Insurance industry will be an added value;
- Be a good communicator;
- Proficient in Kinyarwanda, English is required, mastering French is an added advantage;
- Possess presentation and report writing skills;
- Rwandan by nationality
- Age should be less than 40
- Excellent knowledge in Micro-soft Word and Excel and data management
