Description

NB: This is a National position open for Rwandan Nationals only.

Trócaire works in partnership with local and church organisations, supporting communities in over 16 developing countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East to bring about lasting change. Trócaire envisages a just and peaceful world where; people’s dignity is ensured, and rights are respected; basic needs are met and resources are shared equitably; people have control over their own lives; and those in power act for the common good.

As the official overseas development agency of the Irish Catholic Church, Trócaire has started to work in Rwanda since 1994.

For the period 2023-2027, Trócaire in Rwanda will work in 3 Districts with 11 national partners. In Trócaire Rwanda’s new strategic plan (2021-2025) the ambition has been set out to become a key player in capacity strengthening for local organizations in the country. This is in line with Trócaire’s global partnership and localization strategy (2021-2025).

In addition, Trócaire Rwanda’s work will focus on two core pillars of work; Resource Rights (referred to as Trócaire’s Global Goal 2 work), which embeds Climate Change, Agriculture, Access to Markets and Livelihoods work. This pillar of work also includes resilience building of communities in order to better withstand and recover from natural and/or climate change related disasters (such as flooding, droughts, etc).

The second core pillar of work is Women’s Empowerment (referred to as Trócaire’s Global Goal 3 work), which embeds prevention of Sexual and Gender Based Violence, positive Social Norm change, women’s economic empowerment and increasing women’s voice and influence (power within).

The Resource Mobilization and Grant Manager will report to the Localization and Partnership Manager (LPM) and will lead on the development of high-quality donor proposals, as well as coaching, training and supporting partners in their institutional fundraising strategies and donor engagements. This role will therefore support both Trocaire Rwanda’s internal fundraising and business development initiatives as well as partner capacity strengthening in these domains.

Under the leadership of the LPM and together with two other key capacity strengthening positions (the Organizational Development and Accountability Advisor; and the Monitoring, Learning and Inclusion Advisor), the Resource Mobilization and Grant Manager will play a key role in the roll out of Trócaire Rwanda’s localization and partnership capacity strengthening vision and ambitions.

The Resource Mobilization and Grant Manager will furthermore be part of Trócaire’s Global Partnership and Funding Unit (GPFU) and will be responsible for managing Trócaire’s internal business development and grant management system in place (i.e. Salesforce).
