In the framework of the programme on Strengthening Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for Responsive and Accountable Governance in Rwanda, jointly implemented by UNDP and RGB, a call for project and research proposals was launched in April 2019. A total number of 288 CSOs applied across eleven thematic areas.
An initial administrative check found 53 projects ineligible, and these were disqualified from further evaluation. An independent Grant Selection Committee (GSC) composed of various institutions proceeded to an in-depth evaluation of the eligible proposals. Their evaluation sessions took place on 20-24 May, 27-28 May and June 1st, 2019. The results of the selection process recommended to award 65 projects with scores of 75% and above.
UNDP and RGB are pleased to publish the results of the process as per the below list. The projects scoring 75% and above have been selected and will be awarded with a grant of maximum 25 Million RWF for project proposals and maximum 45 Million RWF for research proposals. UNDP and RGB will organize an awarding ceremony for the awarded CSOs in the coming days. During this ceremony, RGB and UNDP will provide information on the grant and project implementation modalities.
UNDP and RGB would like to thank all the 288 applicants for their submissions. We duly congratulate the 65 successful CSOs and look forward to continue engaging other CSOs in the upcoming grant phases.
