ABOUT ONE ACRE FUND

Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms more productive. We provide quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. We measure our success by our ability to make farmers more prosperous. We are growing quickly. We serve more than 1 million farm families in Eastern and Southern Africa, with more than 7,500 full-time staff.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance and Strategy department at One Acre Fund focuses on strategy, financial and operational tasks. We advise One Acre Fund Rwanda’s Country Director and Division Heads on strategic planning and resource allocation, and work on short to mid-term projects throughout the organization, finding solutions to challenging issues.

The Intern will support one to two projects. Projects may involve running customer and market research, coordinating field activities, and building data models. You might also be asked to support urgent requests coming in from other departments.

Working in the Finance and Strategy unit, you will gain exposure to the wider organization and you will get a good overview of what each department does. A large portion of your tasks, especially at the beginning, will be focused on building skills and developing context rather than immediately delivering value. The most important component of this internship is learning.

This is a full-time paid internship based in Rubengera. We have a free company mini-bus that transports staff from Kigali to Rubengera, and back to Kigali. We are open to having interns working from Kigali, subject to line manager approval.

We have a culture of constant learning and we invest in developing our people. You’ll have weekly check-ins with your manager, access to mentorship and training programs, and regular feedback on your performance. We hold career reviews every three to six months and set aside time to discuss your aspirations and career goals.
