Our 8,000+ team is drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. ABOUT THE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS PROGRAM

One Acre Fund’s Young Professionals Program offers high-performing African graduates meaningful internships and training opportunities at a high-performing, mission-driven organization. Our internships are paid and all interns can expect to receive substantive work assignments working on high-impact projects that support One Acre Fund’s operations.

When joining, interns will participate in an onboarding program and receive training on how to design and execute projects. ABOUT THE ROLE

  • We are looking for a Sales and Marketing Intern to provide financial management and communications support to the Seed Production (SPR) team while our Key Account Manager is on maternity leave.
  • You will learn from and contribute to a team of seed processing experts and entrepreneurs who have pioneered domestic seed processing in Rwanda.
  • You will put to practice your skills in accounting and communications while gaining new skills in a fast-growing industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Sales and Marketing Intern will provide essential support to the Business Operations team through financial management; including client invoicing, revenue tracking, and data management.
  • You will further support department financial sustainability by creating new processes for efficient financial tracking and reporting.
  • You will be the primary liaison between clients for seed processing and the SPR team and will play an important role in client relationship management (CRM).
  • You will assist with compliance requirements within the department and maintain financial and data tracking controls.
  • You will maintain and communicate weekly status reports to management.
  • You will also have the chance to contribute to SPR marketing strategy to increase revenue, bolster department financial sustainability, promote awareness of our services, and strengthen client relations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • You will have an educational background and experience in marketing and sales, accounting, financial management, business operations, or client relationship management.
  • We are looking for someone who is good with numbers, who has strong attention to detail, who prioritizes the quality of deliverables, and who is passionate about serving farmers.
  • You can write in proficient business English can communicate verbally in English and Kinyarwanda with both internal and external parties.
  • Bachelor’s degree or at a minimum have completed all required courses to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Business, Economics or any other related field.

COMPENSATION

Interns will be provided with a reasonable stipend for the duration of their contract. Rural area based fellows will be provided assistance in locating suitable housing.

ELIGIBILITY

This role is only open to citizens or permanent residents of Rwanda.
