babyl is Rwanda’s first full-service mobile health provider. Founded in the UK to bring cutting-edge science and computer engineering to the healthcare industry, the ultimate aim of the company is to give everyone in the world access to high quality, affordable care. Through the use of artificially intelligent triage, digital doctor consultations and prescriptions through mobile devices, babyl has delivered over 480,000 consultations and registered over 2,000,000 users since it came to Rwanda in 2016.

Job summary
The primary role of the Strategy and Operations Manager is to help babyl deliver on its promise to reach all Rwandans with affordable digital healthcare. The Manager will assist the Director of Operations in coordinating departmental activities, improving business efficiencies and underwriting the success of babyl. The Manager would also be in charge of delivering on special projects as needed including conducting / leading meetings with external parties and responding to relevant external funding opportunities. The Manager would operate with a high degree of autonomy and should be prepared to collaboratively make decisions and drive towards action on a wide range of business activities.

Essential job functions
The specific tasks will include, but not be limited to:
- Assist in developing, implementing, and tracking performance against babyl’s long-term strategy
- Design and lead quantitative and qualitative analyses that will support the business make robust, data-driven decisions to increase operational efficiency and overall performance
- Assist babyl’s application for relevant grant opportunities and manage the implementation of selected grants
- Take the lead on writing reports and updates required for donor-funded projects
- Implement growth and professional development programs for Babyl staff
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving abilities, both quantitative and qualitative
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategy, preferably at a top-tier consultancy
- Demonstrated ability in operations and solution implementation
- Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral
- Professionalism and demonstrated experience working with public and private sector senior level leadership
- Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy
- Fluency in English; proficiency with other languages an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree with a consistent outstanding academic record; advanced degree or MBA is preferred
