About the Role:

Based in Kigali, the supply chain coordinator will offer support to supply chain staff at the country office and in the field offices. The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible to the Supply Chain Manager for supporting improvements and management in planning, procurement processing, warehousing, fleet, and asset management. The post holder will ensure compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures, implementation of internal and external procurement requirements and offer training to both supply chain and non-supply chain staff in the field offices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • First degree (Bachelors) in a relevant field such as administration, commerce, supply chain management
  • SCI or other similar INGO logistics management, business administration or related area experience
  • Prior experience in Supply Chain Management in the NGO sector, within complex/large scale country programmes and in emergency response/humanitarian environments
  • Proven experience in all technical areas of supply chain operations including comprehensive procurement understanding, transport/distribution, warehousing, and stock management, fleet management, asset management, communications, and security
  • Experience of working in remote field bases with limited infrastructure
  • Experiencing managing and supervising others in the supply chain
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze information, and make clear, informed decisions
  • Ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally
  • Strong planning, management, and coordination skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities
  • Cultural awareness, with strong written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Fluent in English & Kinyarwanda, both written and oral; French language skills a major advantage.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

This position is on Child Safeguarding- Level 3: The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs. Or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
