The New Times Fellowship Programme
The New Times Publications is starting a fellowship programme to give on-the-job training to young Rwandans who are passionate about producing and publishing local content.
The goal of the fellowship is to give story-telling skills to young Rwandans so they can find employment in the news media. The skills will range from writing for news organisations, to photography, social media skills as well as producing for multimedia channels.
With these skills, the young Rwandans will have better chances for employment or thriving in the growing gig-economy.

The fellowship will last a period of 3 months, starting August 1, 2019.
Who can apply?
Any young Rwandan who is passionate about story-telling and is available for the three months period. It is important that the applicants have a relatively good command of English as the content produced will mainly be in English. The applicants should also have basic computer skills and knowledge.
Format
If selected, the young journalist will receive hands-on training on reporting for different platforms and work with the different beats.

2. Recommendation from someone who knows you professionally
3. Copy of ID
4. Copy of academic qualifications/professional certificates
5. Any sample work; school projects, essays articles, etc.
