Training and Staff Development Intern

Urwego Bank Plc is dedicated to providing financial services to the people of Rwanda. Motivated by Jesus Christ’s call to serve those in need. Its mission is to achieve economic spiritual transformation in the lives of underserved, using financial services and tested trainings as we share Jesus Christ’s love.

Urwego Bank wishes to recruit 1 qualified, competent and proactive Training and Staff Development Intern at the Head Office who will Promote and fulfill the mission of Urwego Bank.

Job Title:  Training and Staff Development Intern

Department:  Training and Staff Development

Reporting to: Training and Staff Development Manager

Directly Supervises: None

Location: Head Office

JOB SUMMARY.

The Training and Staff Development Intern is expected to assist the Training and Staff Development team in Facilitating the training sessions and documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Promote and fulfill Urwego Bank’s 3Ms as listed above while working within a Christ-centered environment that is mission-driven, community-oriented and results-driven.

Spiritual Integration and Christian Witness

  1. Ensure a personal, healthy spiritual balance within the family, work, and church life through the adoption of biblical personal and spiritual disciplines; and
  2. Conduct daily work, make decisions and help Urwego Bank make decisions in a way that witnesses to the presence, power, and love of Jesus and the reality of his Kingdom on earth.

Essential duties and accountability: Training and Staff Development Intern will be reporting to the Training and Staff Development Manager with the following responsibilities:

Having a 6 months training schedule

  • Creating & Keeping track of the training schedule for the entire organization.
  • Ensuring that the training plan is well communicated

Training content

  • Being a custodian of all the training materials.
  • Sharing the relevant materials on time.
  • Receiving training requests from the different departments.

Documentation or Filing

  • Proper filing of different documents such as training materials.
  • Data collection application documents.
  • Sharing the relevant materials on time.

     Staff announcement

  • To gather Staff announcements concerning those that left and the ones that have joined the organization and submit them to the Staff Learning and Development Manager.
  • Draft a staff Learning & Development department template that shows how happy the departing staff is concerning their personal development & career growth through the period they have worked with Urwego.
  • Draft a staff Learning & Development department template that new staff fills to show their career growth expectations.

 Facilitation in training sessions

  • Facilitate training logistics which include venue, food, snacks and training materials. To ensure that the tables and other equipment regularly used for training are available and in good condition.
  • Reviewing and contributing to the training design & plan.
  • Collecting Training feedback forms and writing a training feedback report.

 Academic Qualification

A university degree in Management, Human resource or any related field with a deep understanding of people management.

Other skills required

  1. Personal confession of faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to the mission and vision of Urwego;
  2. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to details;
  3. Strong project management skills;
  4. Passion and experience in training and people development;
  5. Strong written and oral communication skills;
  6. Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of service and response to field and head office leaders;
  7. Proactive, forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions;
  8. Full professional proficiency in spoken/written English and spoken/written Kinyarwanda; working proficiency in French is advantageous; and
  9. Microsoft skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google docs and experience with other Microsoft Office Suite products.
