Organizational setting and Reporting:

This position is located in the Kigali Office of the Witness Support and Protection Unit (WISP), Office of the Registrar, Arusha Branch, Registry. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the WISP Security Coordinator and overall guidance of the Head of WISP.

Responsibilities:

The incumbent’s major duties and responsibilities are as follows:

• Conduct re-housing, arrangement and description for the conservation of WISP witness case files in accordance with Mechanism standards for long term preservation of records

• Verify the accuracy and completeness of WISP witness case files in accordance with best practice standards

• Retrieve and return WISP witness case file records from/to the Mechanism Archives Records Section (MARS)

• Undertake quality control checks of all re-housed WISP witness case files

• Ensure the accuracy of data in the WISP database by cross referencing with WISP physical witness case files and MARS EDRMS database to identify any inconsistencies

• Log errors and issues identified in the WISP database and WISP witness case files for correction and subsequent accuracy of data and documenting for record-keeping practices

• Update metadata in the WISP database to ensure accuracy and completeness of WISP witness case files

• Maintain strict confidentiality of all witness related data at all times

• Undertake any other assignments as required

• Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent with training in witness protection, social work, law, psychology or other related areas.

Experience:

A minimum of six (6) years of practical experience in witness support, social work, psychology, law or related areas, preferably in an international environment. Experience working within the United Nations common system or International Organizations is highly desirable.

Languages:

English and French are the working languages of the Mechanism. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English and/or French is required. Working knowledge of the other is required.

Assessment Method:

There may be a technical test followed by a competency-based interview.
