About the Evidence Fund
The Evidence Fund – funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) – will be a single coordinated, research and evidence platform that supports urgent, mid – and longer-term knowledge generation, synthesis, translation, and engagement. The programme is expected to start late this year, last for 34 months, with an initial budget of £35,800,000.
Building a Research Provider Pool
Palladium is developing a dynamic and flexible Research Provider Pool that can deliver high-quality research, evidence, and evaluation products. The Pool will be composed by pre-qualified local, regional and international providers such as research institutions, Think Tanks, NGOs, University affiliated organisations etc.

Remit of the Research Pool – Geographies and Themes
Current Priority Countries and Emerging Priorities as identified in the Draft Terms of Reference are:
South Asia
Countries: India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Myanmar
Emerging Priorities: Social and economic development, climate change, governance, conflict and security, health and disability.
East Africa
Countries: Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan
Emerging Priorities: Peace, security and governance; building resilience and response to crises (particularly in protracted humanitarian crises); prosperity and inclusive growth; and, tackling vulnerability climate change.
Middle East and North Africa
Countries: Yemen, Lebanon, Jordan, OPTs, Syria, Turkey, Iraq, North Africa Joint Unit (which includes Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania and the territory of Western Sahara) and the Gulf (which is referred to collectively at FCDO).
Emerging Priorities: Climate resilience; humanitarian systems; inclusive growth; strengthening governance; health; education; stability and conflict; data; and, science, technology and innovation.
Potentially expanding to West Africa and Southern Africa in the future.
