Summary:

Under limited supervision, administers all aspects of Partners In Health IT infrastructure in the District area while assisting with Technical Support by spotting and solving issues and devising a solution to prevent them. Qualities such as accountability, crisis management and an ability to prioritize are essential to this position. The district IT manager will report to the PIH-IMB IT Director for all technical and programmatic subjects and to PIH representative in the district for administrative issues

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manages all of PIH internet links at all the sites (in the district), aiming for 100% up time at these sites and a high level of responsiveness in users support
2. Manages the EMR system on a networking basis ensuring that the EMR system has 100% up time
3. Manages all of PIH computers in the District area by ensuring that the computers are working at optimal capacity and scheduling a regular maintenance program for all of them; this involves virus cleaning, data backup, hardware maintenance, and software maintenance
4. Manages and troubleshoots all the networks in all of PIH sites in the district, this involves network installation, monitoring,  troubleshooting, maintenance, and extension
5. Maintains a broad knowledge of operating systems and hardware in order to support users with different types of computing devices
6. implementing IT policy and best practice guides for the organisation
7. May lead or guide the work of other staff engaged in similar functions
8. Attends and actively participates in meetings
9. Coordinates with other PIH teams to schedule updates in the IT needs of PIH
10. Completes other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

1. 1-3 years experience in Network Administration
2. Advanced knowledge in networking technologies (fiber, VSAT, Wifi networks, Ethernet, etc)
3. Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows-based systems
4. Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Linux/Unix based systems
5. Working knowledge and troubleshooting of Apple computers
6. Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly
7. Proactively and effectively communicates issues and resolutions to all levels of the
   organization
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and internal information
